Reading Makes Cent$ is a financial literacy reading program, available to K-5 students and librarians across the state of Virginia. The program teaches a multitude of financial literacy and SOL concepts through a selection of engaging books, lesson plans, and fun activities.
Through reading and learning valuable financial concepts, your child could win one of fourteen Virginia529 inVEST college savings accounts. These come with an initial balance of $529 and may grow year over year to further prepare your child for college success.

To help encourage your child to "read their heart out" this year, our school is participating in the BOOK IT! Program. Each month, October through March, students have a goal of completing reading homework at least 85% of the time for the month. Students who meet this goal will receive a Reading Award Certificate with a coupon for a free personal pan pizza! Sign up for a parent newsletter, Bound Together, at bookitprogram.com/parents.
